Krampnitz The barracks is located in the district of Potsdamer Krampnitz at the Potsdamer Chaussee 
The barracks Krampnitz was from 1937 to 1939 as a barracks builet of the Army, riding and driving school. The facility is adjacent to the military training Döberitzer heath. The architect was Robert Kisch. It was a vast complex of exposed brick with a widely visible entrance tower on the north side. A 48-meter high, square tower is the symbol of the barracks. Behind the tower, on the basement mountain, is the officer casino. There is a staff officer with adjoining buildings, garages and many technical institutions. 
The barracks was completed in 1939. At that time they have served the training of the Mounted and motorized troops, and later the Panzer troops. 1941 was renamed the School of fast troops ", 1943, there was a second renamed" Armored Forces School II Krampnitz ". 
The barracks was on 26 April 1945 by soldiers completely cleared. On 27 April was Krampnitz by the Red Army. From 1945 to 1994 was the barracks by the Soviet army used it also blocks in the slab was complete. Since the withdrawal of former Soviet army in 1992, the buildings were empty. Individual parts were used for shooting of films and television productions use.
