Les Landes.

 

 

The 30th of June 1940 AD, German Troops invade Channel Islands  Up to 11,500 German troops were garrisoned. A restored artillery piece, from componets thown over the nearby cliffs at  Les Landes  at  Batterie  Moltke  Jersey.The Wapon ia a 15,5 cm K-418F one of the four to be emplaced.

15 cm Schnelladekanone L/45

The 15 cm SK L/45 (15 cm Schnelladekanone (quick-loading gun)) 45 caliber) was a German naval gun used in World War II.This gun was used for coast defense duties in concrete emplacements  One example was 3./Marine-Artillerie Abteilung 604 (3rd Battery of Naval Artillery Battalion 604) on the Isle of Jersey. They show it using 44 kilograms (97 lb) shells with a range of 18,000 metres.Also a restored artillery piece  at the Batterie Lothringen  was one of the three naval batties named after conquests of the the Franco-Pruisian War of 1870-71.The artillery piece was recoverd in 1992
