The Su-17M3R "Fitter H"
replaced the MiG-21R in 1980. We do not know for sure how many "Fishbed"
squadrons comprised the 294.ORAP. However, the fact remains that the
regiment had only two Su-17 squadrons totalling precisely
twenty-four Su-17M3R and six Su-17UM3 "Fitter-G" Sparka twin-seat
aircraft for training and operational conversion. Allstedt Russian
Air Base or independent 294th Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment. |
